All Saints' Ministries

All Saints hosts a wide variety of ministries in which members can participate as they walk with Christ.  Nothing in a church happens on its own, and our ministries are the opportunity for everyone to apply their God-given gifts towards the shaping of our worship and our community.

Outreach Ministries

Food Bags for the Hungry

For many years now, All Saints has assembled to-go food bags for our unhoused neighbors and anyone else who may come to our doors in a time of need. People can bring their food items up to the altar during our service's offertory, where they will be blessed alongside the monetary offerings, and our wonderful volunteers assemble those items into bags of assorted goodies which can be handed out by whoever is in the building when someone comes by.

The Little Free Library

The Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization committed to expanding book access for all. Our own Little Free Library shed was dedicated in memory of the late Greg Seery, and sits at the corner of Sutterville and 21st, seeing use by everyone from neighborhood residents to students at Sac City College across the street. It is replenished and repaired by our volunteers.

The Belfry @SCC

The Belfry is the joint Lutheran-Episcopal campus ministry for U.C. Davis, and is run currently by our Associate Priest, the Rev. Portia Hopkins. In collaboration with our Parish Administrator Lachlan, a student at Sacramento City College, she has organized this outreach program to the students of SCC. With its perfect location directly across the street from campus, All Saints has graciously opened up its facilities for us in this endeavor. During the Spring 2023 semester, The Belfry hosted monthly barbecue lunches out in the courtyard, where they served food to an average of 90 people per event. They also put on smaller weekly lunches inside the parish hall when those barbecues didn't occur.

This has been a wonderfully fulfilling ministry, and is planned to return for the Fall 2023 semester.
